About Carol
I have experience teaching Portuguese - grammar, writing, reading and communication skills - to low income students as a volunteer teacher, and I also have experience with private English lessons for Brazilian learners. Therefore, I am more than able to help English speakers with their Portuguese skills, while also teaching a bit about Brazil and our culture! My teaching method tackles the autonomy and specificities of each student, so every class is designed to match the students goals, no matter what they are. Whether you want to learn Portuguese for travelling, for business or just for an exam, I will structure the class to better achieve such goals - while you also practice conversation skills and learn a bit about Brazil's culture with a born and raised Brazilian teacher!

I am a Brazilian student currently living in New York as an exchange student at New York University (NYU) - where I'm doing research on public education and policies for the American high school system at NYU's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development.
Back in Brazil, I'm a senior in my fourth year of Journalism at the University of Sao Paulo (USP), the best in Latin America. I have three years of experience teaching Portuguese as a volunteer teacher, and I was also an international affairs reporter writing weekly articles for important media vehicles in Brazil.
