About Sama
I am an undergraduate at Stanford University studying Electrical Engineering, with a strong academic background in both mathematics and the sciences. I completed the GCSE and IB curriculum in London with high academic achievement, and I bring that same level of structure and clarity into my tutoring.
Alongside my academic work, I have several years of experience supporting students in both one-to-one and small group settings. I thrive working closely with students to understand how they think, where they may be getting stuck, and, most importantly, the moment it clicks. I am patient, organized, and highly responsive.
I aim to create a calm and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence over time. My goal is not only to improve grades, but to help students feel more in control of their learning.

I work primarily with middle and high school students who feel stuck or frustrated with math or the sciences, whether they are trying to improve grades, prepare for exams, or build confidence in the subject. Having completed the GCSE and IB curriculum with strong academic results, I understand the demands of rigorous coursework and the skills students need to succeed.
In a typical lesson, we begin by identifying the exact topic causing difficulty and breaking it down step by step. I explain concepts in clear, simple terms, then guide students through examples before helping them apply the method independently. We also review homework, practice tests, and exam-style questions to build both understanding and accuracy.
I adapt lessons to each student. Some need structured problem-solving strategies, others need conceptual intuition and reassurance. I also help students develop fundamental but often overlooked study habits: organization, time management, and exam preparation which ultimately makes for a calmer, more confident student over time.
For older students, I support college preparation, feedback on essays and personal statements, and guidance on how to present their interests and academic strengths in a clear and thoughtful way. Having recently gone through the U.S. college application process myself, as an international student, I understand how to approach applications in a way that is both authentic and well-structured.
