About Meg
I am a student at Central Saint Martins, studying textile design specialising in Print Design. I will graduate in 2023.
I want to tutor art/design as I think its extremely important to help people develop and translate their ideas in an exploratory way, to put context into your own creation.
This is something I really struggled with until I realised that mistakes are a great thing. As an artist, you have to adaptable, and it's learning how to do this.
I would love to teach people methods of experimentation, using different materials and mediums.

I am a student at Central Saint Martins, going into my final year of my degree. I think it is really important to understand the artistic process ; how to adapt ideas from mind into reality, and how this differs from person to person. I thoroughly enjoy experimentation, a huge part of my own process is exploring different mediums and not feeling restricted. I think a lot of art/design students or children wanting to get creative, think that drawings/paintings or whatever it is that they are doing, needs to be perfect or fit the image of it that they have in their head, this is a really restrictive mindset. I think it is extremely important to make mistakes, and that character comes through in your work when you allow yourself to learn from these mistakes and experiment and this is the approach I would take in my classes. Learn to express yourself in a non restrictive way. I don't have any qualifications as a tutor but I do have lots of experience from my 1 year of foundation and my 4 year degree course, which I will be graduating from next year. I also studied art and design at A level. I am a textiles student who specialises in print design, however it is such a broad subject area that I really work with every medium from painting to sculpture to knitting. I can teach lessons for any age group, if younger that is also fine as I volunteered at a school for children with learning difficulties where I taught art lessons. The classes will last 45 minutes and I will aim to provide an exploratory/ experimental approach to whatever area of design/art is required. I can also help with portfolio reviews etc.
