I usually start my class by making students understand what the problem is and there by give them possible methods to solve the problem.
After understanding the problem I would let them to think and tell their Ideas and then I would suggest the solution and also tell the approach they need to go.
Finally I would suggest them the methods to follow when they come across same type of questions
