About Sofia
As a first-year student at Sciences Po Paris (Dijon campus), I offer tutoring for middle and high school students in all general subjects (French, history and geography, languages), with a particular focus on study methods and organization. I have already helped several students prepare for the oral French Baccalaureate exam, the Brevet exam, and, more regularly, with their homework as part of my volunteer work. Curious, organized, and patient, I prefer to adapt my teaching style to what works best for each student, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method. I am also multilingual (fluent in French and English, Spanish, Polish, Slovak, and Russian), which can be a valuable asset for students struggling with languages.

In my opinion, academic difficulties rarely stem solely from a lack of understanding of the subject matter; they often involve methods or confidence. I first identify the actual obstacle, then I work through reformulation (having the student explain it in their own words) and concrete examples, which is particularly useful in history, geography, and languages. Each session follows the same structure: a quick review of current lessons and homework, followed by work on the day's material with regular checks for comprehension, and a five-minute recap at the end of the lesson to solidify what has been learned and what needs further independent practice. The student thus leaves with clear and concrete reference points, not just completed exercises. I pay particular attention to study methods and organization. I have supported several students in preparing for the oral French Baccalaureate exam and the Brevet exam, as well as providing daily academic support through my volunteer work. My courses are aimed at middle and high school students, in all general subjects (French, history-geography, languages), with or without identified difficulties.
