About Edozie
Edozie Anedu is a Nigerian-born, self-taught artist currently based in London, United Kingdom, best known for his self-portrait figurative paintings. Working primarily with oil, acrylic, pastel, and collage, Anedu employs elemental forms in pursuit of simplicity and familiarity, often echoing the raw honesty of handwriting.
Drawing from personal experiences that evolve into broader ideologies, his work seeks to interpret the human condition. Anedu’s unflinching use of colour and often aggressive brushstrokes express a freedom of emotion that commands attention. His childlike drawings and intuitive colour palette exist in dialogue with his own coming-of-age story—a journey marked by excitement, adjustment, and a hopeful rush toward the future.
