About Bronwen
I have been teaching music since I was twelve years old, and it is my greatest passion!
I have taught undergraduate courses at Yale University, for which I am currently completing my Ph.D. in music theory. These classes ranged from basic musicianship to advanced music theory and music history classes in popular and classical music.
Prior to my years at Yale, I studied and taught music performance (piano and oboe), and hold a master's and undergraduate degree from the University of Manitoba's Desautels Faculty of Music.

My lessons are completely individualized to meet each student's needs.
I like to build from each student's strengths and passions for music to help them make breakthroughs in other areas with confidence and courage.
I specialize in multi-disciplinary learning, how knowledge about music links up to our knowledge in other disciplines. My approach draws from leading theories in music cognition, focusing on embodiment (how we move to music, how music makes us feel, and how we can use our bodily senses to ground our knowledge of music).
