About Isaiah
(MAT) from Relay Graduate School of Education. I’m also a former middle school English Language Arts teacher who truly enjoys helping students grow as readers, writers, and confident learners. I’m highly relational and believe students do their best learning when they feel seen, supported, and encouraged. I care deeply about my students and genuinely want them to win—not just by finishing homework, but by understanding the material, believing in themselves, and feeling confident walking into class. My tutoring style is clear, patient, and encouraging. I explain concepts in a way that makes sense, take time to answer questions, and adjust lessons to fit how each student learns best. I create a safe, positive space where students can ask questions, make mistakes, and grow. I work with students in grades 3–8, and each lesson is tailored to the student’s level, pace, and specific needs. Families can expect professionalism, consistency, and open communication, along with a tutor who truly cares about their child’s success.

Teaching method and techniques
I use a structured, student-centered approach rooted in classroom experience. Lessons focus on clarity, repetition, and practical application. I break concepts down into manageable steps, model examples together, and guide students as they practice independently. I prioritize comprehension, not memorization.
A typical lesson plan
Each session begins with a quick check-in and review of previous material. We then focus on one core skill—such as reading comprehension, paragraph structure, or grammar—using guided practice and real examples. Lessons end with a short recap and a clear takeaway students can use in class right away.
What sets me apart as a tutor
As an English major and former middle school ELA teacher, I understand both how students learn and how classrooms operate. I’m patient, encouraging, and intentional about building confidence. Students don’t just complete assignments—they gain skills they can reuse and trust in their own ability.
