About Olivia
My name is Olivia, and I am currently a student at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania. My interests include creative writing, film and media, philosophical writing, and French language and culture.
When the pandemic hit, I decided to take a gap year before attending university, and that’s when I decided to become a tutor. I saw the world falling apart around me, and I thought that maybe tutoring would let me make a positive difference in another student’s life.
I am currently offering lessons in SAT prep, homework/essay help, English, French, and Philosophy. I hope to work with you soon!

- As a tutor, I am very flexible and accommodating of your schedule. I use a collaborative approach to teaching my students, meaning I listen and share my own experiences to help them succeed and learn better.
- A typical session will depend on your personal needs. Some students provide their homework/essays beforehand for one-on-one discussion and feedback, while others are starting to learn a new subject (i.e. French or Philosophy) and wish for a more hands-on approach to learning.
- For our first lesson together, students may provide previous school assignments that demonstrate their level of proficiency in a certain subject area, and/or I may offer a placement exam in order to gauge the student’s knowledge.
- Every session will end with “Steps moving forward” so you can feel confident in our progress together.
Complete with tutoring support on all of your assignments, structured lesson plans for your convenience, and PDF handouts for you to keep after our session is over, these lessons will help you achieve your academic goals in homework/essay help, test prep, English, French, and/or Philosophy.
