About Harvey
As a Saxophone tutor with 10+ years of experience, I have successfully taught approximately 150 students from beginner to advanced levels. I enjoy helping students achieve their personal musical goals through clear guidance and structured learning.
My tutoring method is student-focused and adaptable. I tailor lessons to each learner’s pace and interests while maintaining a clear learning path. I believe motivation and positive reinforcement are essential for musical growth.
I place strong emphasis on core saxophone skills, including breathing technique, embouchure strength, tone quality, finger coordination, and rhythm control. For advanced learners, I also teach musical phrasing, articulation, and improvisation.
In addition to saxophone performance, I guide students in music theory, sight-reading, and ear training. My aim is to help students develop confidence, discipline, and enjoyment in their saxophone playing.

I follow a practical and progressive methodology while teaching Saxophone, centered on Communication, Accountability, and Integrity. I begin with breathing exercises and long-tone practice to develop a rich, controlled sound. As students progress, I introduce scales, articulation exercises, rhythm control, and expressive phrasing.
I explain the purpose of each exercise so students understand its impact on both technique and musicality. Weekly structured goals maintain accountability and steady progress. I monitor performance carefully and provide honest guidance.
Integrity ensures patience, dedication, and professional support. In addition to Saxophone lessons, I teach Music Theory, Jazz fundamentals, Ensemble skills, and Stage Performance preparation.
