About Preston
I am a committed flute tutor with 7 years of experience teaching students from school to college level, and I am passionate about helping them achieve their musical goals. My journey in music has been filled with learning, practice, and growth, and I aim to share this knowledge with my students.
Over the years, I have worked with many learners, helping them improve their skills and gain confidence in their performance. One of my proudest achievements has been seeing students take part in competitions and events with confidence and enthusiasm.
My teaching method is simple, practical, and structured, focusing on strong fundamentals such as breathing techniques, finger placement, tone clarity, and consistent practice. I also encourage creativity and enjoyment in learning, as I believe music should be both meaningful and fun.
My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable, motivated, and inspired to grow.

My teaching methodology for flute is based on Motivation, Communication, Integrity, and Creativity. I believe that learning flute should be an enjoyable and confidence-building experience for every student.
I begin by understanding each student’s level, learning style, and goals so I can design lessons that suit them personally. I motivate students by setting small and achievable goals and encouraging them regularly, which helps them stay focused and consistent.
Communication plays a very important role in my teaching, and I explain breathing techniques, finger placement, posture, and tone production in a simple and clear way. I ensure that students understand each concept before moving forward.
With integrity, I guide students step by step and focus on building strong fundamentals. I provide honest feedback and support their improvement patiently. Creativity helps me make lessons engaging through songs, exercises, and interactive activities.
Along with flute, I also teach music theory, rhythm, and listening skills to support overall musical development.
