My teaching method involves a very patient approach. As everyone is different, my teaching style is adaptive to those I teach.
My general plan takes part in 9 steps...
1. Assessment: The first step is to assess the student's current level of proficiency in mathematics. This can be done through a diagnostic test or by reviewing previous test scores and classwork.
2. Goals: After assessing the student's current level of proficiency, set specific and measurable goals for the student to work towards. These goals should be aligned with the student's academic needs and should be achievable within a realistic time frame.
3. Curriculum: Develop a customized curriculum based on the student's goals and areas of weakness. The curriculum should be aligned with the student's grade level and the academic standards.
4. Tutoring sessions: Schedule regular tutoring sessions with the student. The sessions should be held at a time that is convenient for both the student and the tutor.
5. Instructional methods: Use a variety of instructional methods to engage the student and to address different learning styles. These methods can include direct instruction, problem-solving, and hands-on activities.
6. Practice: Provide the student with regular opportunities to practice and apply the concepts they are learning. This can include homework assignments, practice tests, and other activities.
7. Progress monitoring: Regularly monitor the student's progress and adjust the tutoring plan as needed. This can be done through formative assessments, quizzes, and tests.
8. Communication: Maintain open communication with the student's parents or guardians and their classroom teacher to ensure that the tutoring plan is aligned with their academic needs and progress.
9. Evaluation: Evaluate the effectiveness of the tutoring plan at the end of the designated time frame and make any necessary adjustments.
