About James
I am a high school graduate. Ending with a 3.56 GPA. I took 4 years of creative writing, 4 years of English, and 2 years of reading. all 3 subjects I ended with a 95% or better all 4 years. I was in the newspaper for a speech I wrote and read. I have gotten multiple awards for poems and stories I've written. My freshman year I won an argumentative writing contest, then proceeded to read my essay in front of the school. I continue to read and write on my free time.

I teach reading, resume building, creative writing, and essay writing. We will do both classroom assignments and personal assignments. My lesson plan is different for each subject.
Reading
For reading I will have you read. I will be there for support on words, and speed. Meaning I will help you sound words out, and use a dictionary for meanings of words. I will also help on speed, having you pause at periods, and read through commas correctly.
Creative writing
We will take your ideas and put them in a template. I will also give feedback and ideas. This is ultimately your project, therefore if you do not like my ideas we will not incorporate them. After we put them in a template we will start to create your story, poem, short story, ect.
Essay writing
Very similar to creative writing, we will look at the assignment, and choose your position. We will then take your ideas and put them in a template. I will also give feedback and ideas. This is ultimately your project, therefore if you do not like my ideas we will not incorporate them. (If this a argumentative essay we will use the other side of the argument as well. We will write the other side down so we can argue all points, and make your essay more powerful). After we put them in a template we will start to create your essay.
Resume Building
I am very well versed on building a resume. We will first write down all of your skills, awards, and job experience. It is ok if you do not have work experience, with your first job it isn't necessary. We then will create your resume.
I teach K-12 reading, 5-12 creative writing and essay writing, And for resume building 16 years old and up.
I am a fun teacher, and don't like learning to be boring. Therefore I will keep lessons fun. I also work at your pace.
