About Benjamin
My educational background is a Master's of Industrial-Organizational Psychology and two bachelor's degrees, one in psychology and the other in sociology. Currently, I am a local professional working in project management in the financial tech industry. Throughout college I served off-and-on as TA and assisted others with improving their writing skills. As a hobby, I help people edit their creative writing, spotting S&G (spelling and grammar) issues, noting problems with flow or perspective, assisting with the clarity of ideas, and so on. I also love helping with cover letters and resumes! My broad and varied background has given me the benefit of learning what does and does not work for writing in both in academia and the professional world.

I have a very hands-on teaching method; I've no interest in providing a lecture, and instead would rather work with you or your child through something already written - partially or completely - to help identify problem areas and learn how to improve. My goal is to teach you to notice bad habits or mistakes as you write and provide the tools with which to solve them, so that you can reliably turn in better papers, resumes, cover letters, etc. for years to come. I'm happy to work with you on what that process looks like - be it working through your writing together in real time, or simply turning it over to me for tips and advice to digest at your own pace later.
