About Emma
Hello, I'm Emma! I have taught English in the UK, Italy, Poland, Germany, Austria, Sweden, France, Finland and Norway to students of over 15 nationalities. I have a degree in English and French from a top English university and I studied international French Law in France where I also tutored French students in academic writing. I have a 120 hour TEFL certification and an 80 hour TEFL.TP certification. I specialise in conversational English practice, academic essay writing and grammatical drills.

I teach academic English to all levels, reviewing and editing degree level English literature, film studies and international studies papers. I am analytical and concise, especially in regards to grammatical accuracy and style. I know what first class degree level English papers look like and I can help you achieve your goals. I am also well versed in MLA, Harvard and MHRA referencing and I specialised in Post War Literature, Post Colonial Literature, gender discourse in French Literature and European Politics.
As an English language teacher I am open and extremely patient, we will agree on your aims and a lesson plan together so you can be sure that your sessions with me will be personalised and effective. I focus on conversational English and grammatical accuracy so whether you need someone to check your papers before you hand them in or to drill your pronunciation before an important presentation I can guarantee you a level of dedication that will be difficult to find elsewhere.
