About Emily
Hi! I’m currently a junior in college majoring in Finance, and I’ve always been passionate about helping students build confidence in their academic abilities. In high school, I scored a 1430 on the SAT, a 32 on the ACT, and earned 5’s on both the AP English Language and AP Calculus AB exams—so I know firsthand how overwhelming standardized tests can feel, but also how achievable success is with the right preparation. Beyond academics, I’ve gained experience mentoring students through leadership roles as an officer in my school’s Future Business Leaders of America club, where professionalism, organization, and clear communication are key. As a school ambassador, I’ve guided other students with classwork and schedules, and as an older sister, I’ve learned that no two learners are the same—teaching styles need to be individualized. I love tutoring because there’s nothing better than seeing that “lightbulb moment” when a concept finally clicks. Whether it’s SAT/ACT prep, essay writing, or general test prep, I’m here to help students feel more prepared, confident, and capable.

My test scores have allowed me to get the highest financial aid based on test scores at colleges, and I want to help others learn the best strategies for test prep so that they can succeed on their tests too. I have helped tutor through school many times before, and I am looking to extend my services to those beyond my school. I cannot teach a student to want to learn. However, if they already have that motivation, then I would love to help them succeed. Watching someone get the scores back that they worked for is one of the most rewarding experiences. My lessons are entirely based on the student’s needs, which we will briefly discuss before each session.
