If the lesson is scheduled ahead of time I'll do a quick review myself, as I'm not perfect either. For biology, I feel the most effective method is to teach it like a story. For Algebra, my method is to walk you through as many practice problems as possible with as many different ways to solve them. Also, I really feel that practice test are extremely effective if your preparing for a certain test especially.
