About Wael
Are you a pre-med or medical student tired of memorizing pages you forget a week later?
Are you a medical student struggling with a topic that just won't stick, lost in the endless flood of information you're expected to remember?
Are you about to start a surgery rotation and want to walk into rounds sharp, confident, and ready to handle patients?
Have you matched into surgery and want to start residency strong and stand out from day one?
Or are you a general surgery resident stuck on one topic you just want to finally master?
If any of these sound like you, you've found the right person.
Who I am
I'm a final-year general surgery resident (PGY-5), with hands-on experience in colorectal, bariatric, hepatobiliary, and upper GI surgery. Throughout my training, every time a topic genuinely confused me, I wrote it down and worked out how to truly understand it, so I could one day teach it the way I wish it had been taught to me. Everything I teach comes from that real experience.
My teaching method
I'm not here to repeat what you've already read in different words, or to make you memorize by repetition. I turn each topic into a real clinical scene: the patient in front of you, the decision you have to make, and the logic behind it. We link theory to practice and go through every detail until you truly get it. You also get the resources you need to review afterward, so you leave with the full package.
A typical lesson
We start from your question or weak spot.
I set up a realistic clinical case around it.
We reason through it together, step by step, focusing on the why behind each decision.
We finish by summarizing the key points, and I share the resources to consolidate what you learned.
Who the lessons are for
Pre-med students building strong foundations
Medical students in any subject who want to understand, not memorize
Medical students starting a surgery rotation who want to master rounds and patient care on the floor
Medical students who matched into surgery and want to prepare for residency
General surgery residents who want to master a specific topic
What sets me apart
I'm still on the wards every day, so what I teach is how medicine is actually practiced, not just how it's written in textbooks.
