About Maryam
My name is Maryam, and I am a dedicated high-school senior with a strong academic background in mathematics and standardized testing. I have earned 5s on both AP Calculus AB and BC, scored 700+ on SAT Reading & Writing, and achieved Mastery on all STAAR exams. I bring both subject knowledge and a deep understanding of what students need to succeed in today’s classrooms.

My approach as a tutor is focused on clarity, patience, and confidence-building. I break down topics step by step, explain why methods work, and adjust my explanations to match each student’s learning style. I make sure students feel comfortable asking questions and never rushed or judged.
A typical lesson starts with a quick check of what the student already knows, followed by reviewing school material or homework. I then teach or reteach the concept using examples, guided practice, and visuals when helpful. Each session ends with independent practice and a short recap so students leave understanding the material.
What sets me apart is that I teach from a student’s perspective. As a current high-school senior, I understand where students get stuck and how teachers expect problems to be solved. I focus on building strong foundations, test-taking strategies, and problem-solving confidence rather than memorization.
My lessons are for K–10 math students, Algebra I & II, Precalculus, and beginner SAT prep in Math, Reading, and Writing. I work especially well with students who feel overwhelmed, need extra support, or want to strengthen their fundamentals in a supportive and encouraging environment.
