As a trainee teacher I understand that all pupils learn differently, so am prepared to create personalised learning goals for each learner. I am trained to teach across the entire primary school curriculum, so can cater for KS1 or KS2 requirements.
As tutoring differs from person to person, I will spend a couple of lessons discovering the pupil's learning style. Once we have established a comfortable learning pattern, I will begin to set challenges to be completed within the session and outside.
With primary school homework becoming more rigid, I aim to find methods that suit each child and allow them space to enjoy being young! Whilst learning is important, I find that it is equally vital for young learners to engage with new information with curiosity and creativity!
I have spent a considerable amount of time in schools, teaching my own classes on placement. In order to develop myself in my last year, I am looking to engage in private tutoring. Not only will this allow me to improve my own personalised learning, you will be in receipt of my full attention and new teaching styles!
Previous pupils often note that I am very easy to talk to, as I encourage just 'giving it a go'! If you fail or make mistakes, then we discuss what happened and move past it. Pupil progress in all of my classes is therefore clear, as I can explain where each pupil overcame issues and moved on from them.
Travel fees apply, as I currently cannot drive and so rely on public transport. If you live locally, I will drop the fees.
Volunteering / work experience
2012 – Ongoing Various primary schools across the UK
Over the years I have worked keenly to develop my experience within schools, so as to further my teacher training. I hope to continue to work within educational settings for many years, as I enjoy personalising my efforts to help others with a lasting impact.
March 2016 – Ongoing The Collection Museum, Lincoln
Various dates Living in Lincoln has allowed me to explore the rich history and background of the city, which was only magnified within this role. Volunteering at The Collection over time has given me the opportunity to work with the public and with schools, leading activities surrounding a range of historical periods. As a volunteer, I was responsible for ensuring that visitors in my area were engaged by the resources provided and inspiring educational conversation from all ages.
