About Willie
As a former professor of Literature, History, Philosophy of Education and the Humanities my teaching philosophy has always been dedicated to emphasizing the art of deconstruction as a tool to critique what is deemed knowledge. My teaching methodology through writing exercises, small group discussions and creative presentations, students are/were given the opportunity to think critically, communicate their ideas effectively, and reclaim their voices, thereby fostering a strong sense of self-realization and identity formation.

Human history is a rich tapestry woven through time and space with contributions from all cultures creating the beautiful mosaic called humanity. My students will learn the art of critical thinking and appreciate the importance of recognizing our shared history as sentient beings walking this earth. This approach transcends false, socially constructed notions of race and rejects the divisive ideologies that promote hate. Every culture has played a vital role in shaping our world today, and this collective heritage truly defines our humanity.
My lesson plans are tailored for secondary and post-secondary students and the general public.
Teaching Methodology and lesson plan approach:
• Formulate practices in critical pedagogy principles to prepare students to interrogate and analyze harmful practices, false narratives, and misrepresentations in the classroom.
• Create new social constructs through critical dialogue and apply the results to social issues, developing a sense of self-worth and a willingness to become involved in social change.
• Learn analytical literature review and critical analysis to enhance writing skills to deconstruct false social constructs. In my classroom, students will embark on a critical thinking journey, learning to appreciate the profound significance of our shared history as sentient beings. This understanding transcends the false, socially constructed notions of race and racial hierarchies, empowering students to reject divisive ideologies that foster hate and divisiveness. Each culture has made invaluable contributions to our world, and this collective heritage truly embodies our humanity.
