About MIKE

Four major tech disruptions in 25 years — the dot-com bust of 2000, the telecom collapse of 2001–2002, the outsourcing wave of 2003–2004, and the offshoring transitions of the mid-2000s. I survived every one by building a personal system for learning new skills fast, under pressure, without a roadmap. Now AI displacement is the fifth — and I'm navigating it the same way I always have: by learning faster than the disruption moves. That system is what I now teach.
I'm a Silicon Valley hardware and software test engineer with 25+ years at HPE, Google, Cisco, Nokia, and TI — across both full-time roles and consulting contracts in R&D labs where rapid onboarding into unfamiliar tools under pressure was the norm and immediate delivery was never optional. I also co-owned a franchised chain restaurant — so I understand the small business owner's pressure to do more with less, not just the engineer's.
My core belief: the most valuable AI skill in 2026 isn't knowing how to use ChatGPT. It's meta-learning — using AI to learn AI itself. When you master that loop, your learning speed doesn't just improve, it compounds. Every new tool, every new disruption, every new domain becomes faster than the last because AI is now your 24/7 personal coach, tutor, and thinking partner simultaneously. That's the only skill with a 10-year shelf life.
In our sessions, we start with simple, accessible workflows as live lab material to build the meta-learning muscle. From there, you apply that skill yourself — diving as deep into your own work as you need to go. The goal isn't for me to solve your workflow. It's for you to leave knowing how to solve it yourself.
Mid-career professionals, knowledge workers, and small business owners welcome. English and Mandarin sessions available.

I teach AI augmentation the way I wish someone had taught it to me — not as a collection of tools to memorize, but as a meta-learning system that makes every future AI shift faster than the last.

Teaching Method:
The foundation of every lesson is one principle: use AI to learn AI. Instead of showing you which buttons to click, I teach you to use AI as your 24/7 personal coach — pulling knowledge on demand, in your field, at your pace. This transfers to every platform that comes next, not just the ones we work with today.
Each session follows a four-step loop: Frame the new concept against what you already know, Map it to your existing mental model, Build a tangible artifact you can use immediately, and Refine it with constraints that deepen your understanding. You drive. I coach live.

A Typical Lesson:
We start with simple, accessible workflows as live lab material to build the meta-learning muscle. From there, you apply that skill to your own work — as deep as your situation requires. A session might cover:
— Comparing AI platforms live to find the right tool for your task and budget
— Configuring privacy settings across ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini that most users never find
— Building your first structured prompt and seeing the before/after quality gap immediately
— Running a live Hermes Agent multi-skill chain — 98 prebuilt skills, no coding required
— Setting up pay-as-you-go access to 300+ AI models at a fraction of subscription costs
— Deploying your first persistent AI agent with real-world integrations
Every session ends with at least one artifact you can use the following Monday.

What Sets These Lessons Apart:
The curriculum follows a structured belt-progression — White Belt through Purple Belt — so learning is sequential and cumulative, not a random collection of tutorials. I introduce Hermes Agent before Abacus Claw because its 98 prebuilt skills let students run live multi-agent orchestration on day one with zero setup friction. Claw follows as the advanced layer once foundations are solid.

After 25+ years at HPE, Google, Cisco, Nokia, and TI — surviving four consecutive tech disruptions — I bring a practitioner's honesty about what actually works under pressure, what is overpriced for what it delivers, and what is worth investing in for the long term.

Who These Lessons Are For:
Mid-career professionals navigating AI-driven job market shifts. Knowledge workers wanting real ROI from tools they are already paying for. Small business owners needing to automate without hiring. Career changers building a demonstrable AI portfolio. Gen Z professionals entering a workforce where the traditional career ladder is already broken — facing an AI disruption unlike anything the generations ahead of them have experienced, with no established playbook to follow. Beginners to intermediate learners — no coding or technical background required. English and Mandarin sessions available.
