About Emily
My name is Emily, I am a 22 year old woman born and raised in New Zealand. In 2025 I graduated from the University of Otago with a bachelor of science, majoring in genetics and with minors in microbiology and English. Next year I will begin my masters in genetic counselling and believe that by tutoring I can not only use my skills to help someone else, but can also transfer the skills I will gain from this experience, into my future work with patients.
In my spare time I love reading, music and going for walks or to the beach.
I have au pair experience, teaching English to Italian children for three months in 2026. I also have tutoring experience in 2022 where I tutored high school children in various subjects to prepare them for exams.

English tutor with years of experience with people of various ages :) - Hello, my name is an Emily and I am a 22 year old woman from New Zealand! I am a tutor of English as a second language and have had experience as an au pair in Italy, teaching English to young children. What I love most about teaching is seeing the progress that you make, I believe in celebrating the small wins! I also have my Bachelors degree for which I majored in genetics and minored in microbiology and English.
I believe in setting goals for a learning plan, and these goals may look different for everyone, my aim is to tailor the learning experience to you so that you can get the most out of it! For example: I might do an initial assessment of your existing English knowledge to try and gauge where we should start or where we should move on to.
A trial with me might be just what you need! I'm a relaxed, supportive teacher who has a genuine interest in helping you!
