About Jesse
Some tutors view lessons as a one-way street. This usually means they expect to shove information on the students and hope that some of it sticks. This can overwhelm students and leave them trying to figure out what to do next.
This is why I find it vital to engage students in sessions by asking questions and encouraging them to think independently. While I still take time to explain crucial concepts to students, these explanations are followed by questions that ask the students to apply the concepts we discuss to their assignments.

My methods and techniques vary to match what works best for the student. Unlike some tutors who focus on marking all mistakes, I focus on high-priority and repetitive issues that are presented in a student's work. This way, we can work together to better understand what went wrong and how to make corrections. This ensures the student comes away from a session knowing more about essay writing.
