About Joel
Hello, my name is Joel and I want to help your child achieve their academic goals and realize their potential! I am an undergraduate student at the University of Cape Town studying Environmental and Geographical Science and History. I made the Dean's Merit list in 2021 and 2022. I am fascinated by my work and the world we live in. I am deeply passionate about education and helping my students achieve their academic goals. Having A.D.D. and managing to succeed has informed who I am today and my methods of teaching. A typical lesson would review their current learning material, explaining tricky concepts after which supplementary notes, activities and further resources will be provided to ensure there are no gaps in their knowledge.
I make use of the Answer Series textbooks, Quizlet cue cards and my own personal notes that helped me achieve a distinction for Life Sciences in Matric.
If applicable, I can pass on the ways in which I worked with my ADD to make school fun and interesting. This includes game-ifying work, finding areas of interest and focusing on processes.
