About Zafir
Hi! My name is Zaf, I am a 19 year old university student that attends the University of British Columbia in Canada. Although Canadian, I have spent most of my life abroad living in the DR Congo, the UAE and Portugal, therefore having been exposed to different cultures and education curriculums. I am studying international relations and am greatly interested in the social sciences, especially history and business. Lastly, the most important thing about me is .... that I am a massive football fan and my favourite team is FC Barcelona, so close this page if you are a Real Madrid fan ;)

Having navigated through the jungle of high school myself and come out (almost) unscathed, I understand the difficulties students face firsthand. This has led me to be well aware of the overwhelming amount of information to absorb that seems pointless, so instead I have adopted a collaborative approach to my lessons, with emphasis on students finding value in the subjects they are learning about. A typical lesson plan includes:
- Visiting the syllabus and the broader subtopics at the beginning of the session
- Understanding the course material and its implications on the real-world
- Conducting practice questions
- Reviewing the initial content before the end of the lesson
This will include activities provided by me, while students are also encouraged to bring any homework or material that they struggle with from class. These lessons are predominantly catered to middle school and high school students (especially those doing their (I)GCSEs OR the IB), although students of any level can be taught.
