About LaNiyah
I understand how intimidating writing can be. Upon entering high school, I was severely behind in terms of reading comprehension skills and writing clarity.
I was only able to go from skirting by with Cs to consistently getting 95s and above because someone saw past my difficulties getting things on paper to the intelligence lying behind them. I hope to do the same for anyone who would give me the honor of working with them.

I will treat you as the intellectual you are.
The first step to good writing is good thinking. To ensure in-depth thinking, it is a given that I will take the time to read any literature/text that we will be working on so that we can be in open conversation about themes and literary elements. In doing so, I will challenge and broaden your perspective.
From there, I will work on establishing your personal connections to the text. In my experience, the best writing only occurs when one can be an in-depth thinker AND when they can talk about something that matters to them.
From that point onward, we will focus on the revisionary process.
Should you need to brush up on grammar, we will do so as needed.
