About Louise
I’m a current 3rd year student at Oxford University studying Biochemistry. My course is an integrated Masters with a 4th year project, in which I’ll be studying Bacterial Ecology. The Biochemistry course I study integrates a lot of subject areas, including Maths, Organic Chemistry and Biology (particularly cellular biology and genetics).
At A-level I studied Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Further Maths, achieving A*s in all four subjects. Despite having done less Maths and Chemistry during my course, I still really enjoy these subjects and would be happy to re-learn some things for tutoring!
I love sharing my knowledge and believe that the skills and expertise I have gained studying at Oxford will prove very useful.
In my spare time I go Wakeboarding (when the weather is nice!) and make digital art on my iPad (when the weather is bad).

I’d love to help students understand their current curriculum. I know with subjects such as Biology and Chemistry, sometimes things just don’t click straight away. I’m a firm believer in the usefulness of explaining things from a different angle, and would like to apply this to tutoring.
Tutoring sessions will often last 30 mins or 1 hour in which we can discuss concepts that the student isn’t quite clear on and cover any questions they have, or past-paper problems. Given that it has been 3 years since I finished my A-levels, advance warning on topics would be appreciated! Nonetheless, I am happy to tutor for Biology, Maths and Chemistry at GSCE or A-level.
I have no experience in tutoring yet, but I often helped friends out with homework in secondary school and university. I frequently achieve high 2:1 and First Class grades on my assignments at University, which cover mathematical skills, problem solving and biochemistry-based essay writing.
