About Red
I am studying a degree in visual arts because I want to teach. I want to make art accessible to all, allowing anyone to walk into a gallery and have an informed opinion.
My personal interests in art are within portraits, charcoal figure drawings, postmodernism, and gestural drawings. I enjoy playing with colour.
I am not the one to call for photorealism, though I am more than happy to be your jumping off point for reading your photo references and creating depth.

My personal approach to teaching is to take what you are already interested in and experiencing and applying that to visual language.
Many visual arts students struggle with having to translate the image in their head to paper, so my approach is about breaking down that barrier. I enjoy leading students to experiment with incidental mark-making, working with figure drawing, and deep diving into rabbit holes.
