I believe in a personalised and logical approach to learning. It important that students have a strong understanding of underlying principles to truly learn (not just remember) the subject. Also, a teaching style must be adaptable to the needs of the student, from those who prefer learning by real world analogies to those who like a more theoretical approach.
Having studied Maths, Physics and Chemistry at A Level (Biology and Philosophy at AS), I continued with all three subjects in a Natural Sciences before dropping Chemistry and Physics to focus on Maths. I spent over a year tutoring English online to foreign students, and took part in some informal tutoring while at school.
