I am an undergraduate giving lessons in chemistry and biology to secondary school students. I believe learning should be fun and interactive. I use various methods to help understanding of the topic which will allow the application of knowledge to any question given. I am patient, friendly and approachable and want all my students to feel comfortable in our lessons.
Ideally, I aim to teach in a relaxed conversational manner. There is little need for me to cover an entire syllabus but I believe it is vastly more important to cover areas in which the student is struggling. Ask for assistance on the parts of a course you find troublesome (maybe even boring!) and I will do my best to teach it in a digestible manner that doesn't feel like you're being lectured.
I find that focusing on weak areas is the most effective area of teaching. By going through issues that a student has had with questions and finding where the problems arise from, then working on fixing these issues leads to a stronger and more confident student.
I have mostly helped A level/GCSE level students, and have coached tennis players of all ages and abilities up to national level. The approach that always worked best for me is working through example questions, and talking through the method behind the question. This is not only perfect practice for when the actual exam comes, it is also the easiest and most logical way to deal with the problem.
I teach based on how I learned as a student, with visual aids, videos and past papers. Multiple questions in a specific topic helps memorise the correct answer and varying the difficulty will show if the learner understands it.
I believe that people learn differently, so I will look at how you learn best and work with that. I can create any resources you need and be flexible in timings to teach you. My lessons will be fun and very interactive to keep you engaged and wanting to learn. I am an outgoing and friendly person who will respond to any questions as quickly as possible.
My teaching method is explaining the subjects using fewer words as possible and includes games or interactive activities with students. I have confidence in teaching primary school students and I believe I can make maths and chemistry fun for you.
I am able to give lessons to those studying for GCSEs or below. My teaching method is you tell me a topic that you struggle with or are finding more difficult, and I will happily help you understand this in a more simplistic way.
I am a very consciousness individual who is friendly, approachable, patient and a good listener. Over the last five years I have successfully taught and tutored for a range of courses to all age and ability ranges, including A-level Chemistry, Triple and Double Award Biology a, Chemistry & Physics.
I focus on imbibing innovation rather than using traditional teaching methods. Strategic application of bookish knowledge to the physical world is stressed upon. Catch up quiz after each class to monitor students' continuous progress. I also put importance on problem based understanding. Doubt clearing sessions are undertaken to solve any kind of subject related questions.
I am a very creative learner myself hence my teaching skills are creative. From games to simple whiteboard drawings, I ensure a student can learn in their own efficient way to achieve their maximum potential. Making the subject fun and easy to learn is my goal.
It's important to always recognize who you're teaching before starting with them (age is an undeniable modifier), with that being said it is good that I have taught different ages so I am adaptable to any child to young adult.
Discuss certain weaknesses and address them accordingly. Spend as much time required in order to allow for student to digest and absorb information, so that we can move forward in a progressive manner. Using images so that students can visualise.
I try to base my teaching methods around how you learn best. Recently I have been using games to help people learn which has worked well so far. I try to make my sessions interactive and I want you to be involved in your learning.
I will teach in a manner which suits you - Going through concepts and topics which you require that little extra help in, in a way which will allow you to understand. This will be supplemented by going through questions based on topics, and you can choose areas you wish to go through with me.
I am a first year economics student who achieved an A* in both A Level and GCSE Mathematics looking to tutor A-Level and GCSE Mathematics. I will primarily focus on exam paper questions, and maximising your marks for every question.
It is important to know that students strengths and weaknesses so pre-assessment of material gives indicators of topics to work on and those to which new learning can build a scaffold from
I like teaching by explaining concepts in away students can visualise them in their minds. It helps them relate the concepts with the practical applications and with the real world. If I'm teaching algebra to kids I'd like to make things variable as a piggy bank of possible numbers.
A kind friendly person who finds it easy to relate to the challenges faced by current students doing their GCSEs
I am currently studying for my Masters (MSci) in Chemical Engineering at the University of Nottingham. I am a patient and enthusiastic person with proficient use of communication to explain complex ideas in a simplistic manner. I am able to do any level work from primary school upto and including A levels.
I wanted to teach students in a unique way so that my students would not get bored in lectures and will understand the knowledge I wanted to share in a most easy way.
I teach based on what my student struggle with and work from those towards their strengths.
I normally start getting to know the students, what they find difficult and why.
My teaching method varies depending on the student. Some students can absorb information easily through reading and flash cards whilst others find that creating pictures, mindmaps and creating things help them to remember better.
My teaching method is very fun and interactive, I can take it slow so the student can understand what’s going on but can also speed it up according to what the student is capable of
Hi! I'm currently a medical student at the University of Nottingham. I come from Dubai and have achieved an A in Chemistry and an A* in English Literature in my A Levels.
Each student that I tutor has a different set of strengths and weaknesses. My plan is simple. I identify the weaknesses and turn them into strengths.
I like to use analogies to explain concepts. Visual diagrams and practise exam questions to apply knowledge further are my main strategies.
I come from a strong background in Chemistry and Mathematics with Ph.D. in Chemistry. I have been teaching a wide spectrum of students for 10 years now. Currently, I am teaching Chemistry and Microbiology to BTEC Level 3 Forensic Science student and Chemistry and Mathematics to A-Level (board OCR) student. Recently my former student procured distinction (D3) in all her assignments.
I have a large amount of experience in teaching students the exciting and important subjects of both Biology and Chemsitry. The main importance in the tutoring is that the pupil is confident enough to reach they're full potential, which is always much, much higher than they first thought.

Perfect! Shaina is a superb tutor who I would recommend. She is very good, patient and motivating. Shaina had always asked me to explain topics to ensure I had understood them before moving on. She emphasised that no question was a dumb question, so I...
