About Gwendolyn
Hi there! My name is Gwen and I'm a student at the University of Ottawa studying English and creative writing. My two main passions in life are writing and education, so it would be an honor to be able to teach English and pass on my love for literature to the next generation. I was an anxious student throughout all of my school before university, so I understand the importance of offering kind and gentle academic support to my students. Like I wrote, it would be an honor to be chosen as an English tutor for a wonderful young scholar looking to better their skills. I can offer both support for students that have fallen behind and support for students who wish to jump ahead academically, in addition to insight on what it's like to pursue English in post-secondary education.

I implement a gentle and understanding teaching methodology catered toward students with anxiety and other special learning needs, while still ensuring academic goals are met. A typical lesson plan involves integrating the student's interests with the academic material, creating an effective Montessori-style approach. My lessons are for students in grades 6-10 who either struggle in English class or wish to jump ahead.
