About Yvonne
I’m a 25 year old teacher that’s so excited about teaching you English. I understand that my learners will be coming from different backgrounds. I’ll make sure that I help them through understanding English as a subject and as a language. They’ll learn to speak fluently and write effective paragraphs. They’ll be able to communicate with other students. I will engage culture and ideologies, we will learn to respect each other while understanding and appreciating the beauty of language.

I have 4 years experience in teaching. I obtained a merit certificate in 2018 in English literature. I have 2 Dean’s commendations certificates, meaning I got above 75% in all my modules for two consecutive years. I’m am currently teaching English as a first additional language in grade 11ams Life orientation in grade 12. In 2023 grade 13 results, I obtained a 100% pass rate with 46 distinctions out of 158 learners. I believe in teaching the learner considering what they’re currently interested in. I always relate my teaching with what you like. I bring TikTok videos to class because I bet you logged in to TikTok today. It doesn’t bore you. I’m very enthusiastic and patient with my learners. Although I strive for excellence, I spend time scaffolding, step by step teaching those that take a bit longer than others to grab content. I love watching them move from one stage (the unknown) to another (the known). I’m excited to help you through learning English and loving English.
