About Darlene
I am a second-year Environmental Science student at the University of Manchester, originally from Dubai, with a strong academic background, having completed my GCSEs, AS, and A Levels. In my first year at university, I continued to excel, achieving a first-class grade. My passion for teaching and supporting younger students has grown through tutoring GCSE, AS and A Level math, science, and environmental science. I’m dedicated to creating a positive and productive learning environment, using my knowledge and experience to help students reach their goals and build confidence in their studies.

My Approach to Tutoring and Teaching Methodology:
I take a student-centered approach to tutoring, ensuring that my lessons are tailored to meet each student’s unique learning style and pace. I focus on breaking down complex concepts into simpler, manageable steps and use real-world examples to make the content more relatable. I also encourage students to ask questions freely to build their confidence and engage them in active problem-solving. Where appropriate, I use visual aids, interactive activities, and past paper questions to reinforce learning.
Typical Lesson Length:
My lessons typically last 60 minutes, which allows enough time to cover new content, work through examples, and answer questions without overwhelming the student.
Qualifications and Experience:
As a second-year Environmental Science student at the University of Manchester with strong academic performance and a passion for teaching, I have both the knowledge and communication skills to effectively tutor students in GCSE, AS and A Level math, science, and environmental science.
