About Sophia
Hi! I'm Sophia and I am currently a Doctor of Physical Therapy student at the University of Miami. I graduated Summa Cum Laude at the University of Florida with a major of Applied Physiology and Kinesiology and graduated valedictorian of my high school class. I have been tutoring in math and science for about 6 years. I have experience tutoring in Fitness, AP calculus AB and BC as well as AICE math, precalculus, algebra, and prealgebra, elementary math and reading, as well as spelling. I also have experience tutoring in chemistry, AP/college level chemistry, biology and AP/college level biology. I am looking forward to helping you succeed in all your classes! I am currently learning all things anatomy and physiology at the University of Miami, so I am definitely able to help elaborate on those subjects. In high school I took every math class offered to me and when that was not enough, I went to the local community college and took more. I took prealgebra and algebra in middle school and started tutoring as soon as I got to high school. Throughout high school I completed algebra 2, precalculus, AICE math (scoring a B on the AICE test), AP calculus AB (scoring a 5 on the AP TEST), and AP calculus BC (scoring a 5 on the AP test). Now I am confident that I can teach others all of those subjects including college level calculus 1. I studied for my NASM CPT exam back in 2020 and have been teaching others ever since. I’ve had 4/4 NASM students pass their exam using a self-formulated study guide, practice tests, and lectures. Typically I ask that you send materials within 24 hours of your scheduled lesson so I have time to prepare and make a lesson plan. I want to be 100% prepared before I meet with you so that I can get you an A in your class.
