About Peter

I took the 11+ to enter grammar school; attained grade 7 (A) in GCSE Literature and Language and attained an A* in A-level English Literature. I currently study Law at the University of Birmingham.
As such, I am well placed to teach this area of academia and schooling. I have entered tutoring for 2 core reasons:
1. I want to help students- who would otherwise be locked out of a better education- access the opportunities available to people attending selective schools.
2. I need money to buy food!

About the lesson

I am able to offer effective tutoring for secondary and pre-secondary English language and Literature by guiding students through example questions, explaining concepts in an accessible and supportive manner and ensuring that students have the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in the subject, or to pass specific tests like entrance exams or GCSEs.

For general studies, I would be able to help students with particular areas of their curriculum that they struggle with and offer advice on improvements they could make to their work in stylistic and substantive terms.

To prepare for specific tests, I will offer exam-board specific support and support for specific question types or areas of a course. The tests I am most familiar with (having sat them) are:

11+ entrance exam
SATs
GCSEs (Literature and Language)

I would become familiar with any other specified examination as well as the ones listed.

Online lessons will be cheaper because they are less intensive and will not be as good as in-person ones.
Travel costs are 5.50 as that is the cost of a bus ticket. If you live on the cross-city line please let me know as travel may not cost as much.
The hourly rate is less than the minimum wage for over 21s, which is pretty fair. If this fee is more than you can afford, please get in touch still and a different rate can be calculated.
