I focus on the 9-1 Mark Scheme as, obviously, we need to be fully aware of what the examiners are looking for! Lessons need to interesting and energizing, consolidating student's strengths and working on improving any areas they are not so sure of - all the time working on increasing confidence.
For KS1/KS2/KS3 students: I will try to help the student improve their comprehension skills, and work with them on their homework and classwork- really any issues they are having with English I would be more than happy to provide some guidance. I will also help them improve on the specific feedback their teachers are giving them.
I like to approach sessions in a casual manner, preferring to build good rapport with whomever I'm working with. Through this, I encourage a conversational atmosphere and environment in which students are happy to voice their concerns and address their challenges.
I set homework at the end of every lesson and will mark it in my own time. I will always go through it with my students in the next lesson and will provide very detailed feedback. I also offer my own revision packs which are full of lots of revision notes, exam technique, questions, and answers.
I aim to make my sessions interactive, fun and most importantly educational. I find my students prosper more from a relaxed and comfortable environment whether that is at home, the library or any other safe place. In terms of curriculum I am happy to teach any English content, be it literature or language and any exam board.
My teaching method is to teach all the content on the spec in topics and then do past papers to make sure that the knowledge gained can be applied correctly to different questions.
Having been taught at the leading King Edgware Grammar School and having taught at the renowned tuition company in the UK Explore Learning, I have a lot of experience in teaching 11+ students of various abilities, beginner to advanced, on how to think critically and analytically in a confined space of time under exam conditions.
I've always struggled with the pressure of exams, and so I can completely empathise with those who feel the same! I can also appreciate the time-consuming ordeal as you prepare to hand in coursework, or take part in a controlled assessment. Each student is different, and I'm here to give help as it's needed! I like to start with a short introductory session with the student.
My teaching methods are straight forward. I will set the student work that I think will help them progress in class. I use the syllabus from their school to create, age and group appropriate work to keep the student engaged and on target with the rest of their peers.
My approach is student led. I will concentrate on areas of the subject that my students are struggling with. Giving the lessons a very personal and relaxed feel. I specialise in Greek drama and epic but my knowledge is broad.
I am currently studying the first year of my A-levels in religious studies, Law and English Language and Literature, I want to share my knowledge and experience with others and help them so that they can progress and reach their full potential.
I teach using techniques I have learnt to achieve my own grades. I did this my simply increasing my practise time and allowing for other students to share their knowledge. I am willing to tutor less able students who need help.
I teach children from as young as 3 years old and continue all the way up to undergraduates. The initial session allows me to come up with a tailored lesson plan that suits your requirements. I will be able to distinguish the key areas you require lessons for and personalise lessons to meet your expectations.
As a bilingual student who acquired English as a dual language, I can help students access the basic skills in English reading and writing, before delving into more complex work and studies. This can vary across the academic study of literature or tasks in creative and persuasive writing seen in the curriculum of current examinations across the country.
I give lessons from any age up to 16. A few of my other teaching highlights include: Continually facilitate an open, consistent, and nurturing learning environment where students are motivated to learn and driven by their own successes and accomplishments.
I am willing to tutor both GCSE and A level students. Having chosen English Literature at A level and as my degree I really know what is required to write a compelling and coherent essay and how to insightfully and closely analyse texts.
As a Philosphy student I emphasise the importance of discussion. To be able to discuss and argue your ideas coherently is the foundation of demonstrating an ability in any humanities subject. Understanding content and context is filling in the gaps.
I am a freelance tutor, teaching those who like to improve on their hobbies alongside those who study creative writing degrees. My methods are casually answering questions and working with my student/students to tackle certain topics they would like learn themselves. I am fun and laid back, so don't stress! Unwind and learn your favourite subject at ease.
Everyone is very different in the way they learn and so I'll try my best to cater my tutoring to the way that best suits you. Throughout A levels I found that the best way for me and a lot of my friends to revise was through essay plans, meaning that we were prepared for pretty much any question that we could be given in the exam.
Innovative humorous creative approach. Empathetic to range of students. Passionate about unlocking the highest potential in each person. Language is power so people can use the persuasive power of words to move others. Critical skills are crucial and then employ this new understanding with own work.
My teaching method varies depending on each pupil and I do enjoy incorporating both physical and verbal learning within my lessons. I understanding that all students learn differently and therefore try to ensure that every time I introduce new content I am teaching it in different ways so that students can collectively understand.
I am a patient teacher who approaches every situation in a relaxed manner. If a student is unable to understand a particular topic, I will provide them with the support they need and not move onto the next topic until the one we are covering is fully understood.
At school I teach KS3 - KS5 and I have previously led seminars with BA students at Birkbeck University, so I am pragmatic when it comes to teaching - it certainly depends on the topic and definitely depends on the student!
I base my lessons around the topics my student struggles with the most rather than merely covering topics to make up hours. I aim to make my sessions enjoyable but also structured and set very clear objectives for learning.
I as an educator know that student engagement is the key to learning retention, with changing times education requires adaptation and evolution. Therefore I base my current teaching style around the individual student to eliminate anomalies in their academic life.
Our first meeting will be to discuss any issues you have encountered with the subject. I will then personalise our lessons just for you to build upon the skills required for achieving your absolute best! Whether you struggle with content or exam technique, I'll point you in the right direction. I will create questions that suit you and discuss themes surrounding your texts.
I believe in order to teach a student you have to be engaging and make learning fun as cliche as it sounds, I love teaching one to one as I believe children benefit the most from this (or small classes).
I always like to plan and structure my sessions, and work with you! First we will identify the problem areas, and our sessions will be centred around that, with a few tasks that I believe will help you.
I will consider difficult topics that the student struggles with and first gear my lessons around achieving a excellent understanding on that area. Once all areas of the curriculum have been covered I will introduce revision techniques and will show the student step by step how to approach and master exam questions with the aid of a mark scheme.
My teaching method is to instill fun into the lessons so students can remember what I taught them. I would teach in how I wish to be taught when I was studying the language.
