About Amy
Hi, I’m Amy Welch — a passionate business and marketing educator with more than 16 years of experience helping students discover their potential and prepare for successful futures. I currently teach at Walhalla High School in South Carolina, where I focus on personal finance, marketing, digital design, and career readiness. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Marketing Education from the University of Georgia and a Master of Arts in School Leadership from Furman University. I am also a certified Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF), which allows me to provide professional-level guidance in career planning, goal setting, and workforce readiness. Over the years, I’ve been honored to receive recognition as Teacher of the Year twice and serve as a finalist for School District of Oconee County Teacher of the Year. Beyond the classroom, I’ve served as a DECA advisor for 15 years and on the South Carolina DECA Board of Directors. I love guiding students through competitive events, community service projects, and leadership opportunities that help them apply classroom skills in real-world contexts. I’m passionate about helping students build confidence in themselves—whether through crafting a powerful résumé, delivering a winning pitch, or finding a career path that fits their strengths. My goal is to make every student feel capable, prepared, and inspired to take charge of their future.

As a dedicated educator with over 16 years of experience in business and marketing education, I believe that real-world learning and hands-on practice are the keys to lasting success. My teaching approach blends interactive lessons, personalized coaching, and practical application—so students don’t just learn *about* career readiness, they actually *live it*.
Each session begins with a focused goal, such as refining a résumé, building a personal brand, or developing a professional pitch. We’ll start with short discussions or examples from real workplace scenarios, followed by guided activities that allow students to apply what they’ve learned. Reflection and feedback wrap up each lesson, ensuring measurable progress and growing confidence.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to connect classroom content with authentic professional skills. Drawing on my experience as a DECA advisor and business educator, I help students bridge the gap between academic theory and career readiness—developing communication, professionalism, and leadership along the way.
My lessons are ideal for high school or college students preparing for internships, interviews, or competitions, as well as young professionals seeking to strengthen their presentation, networking, and résumé-building skills. Each learner leaves empowered with tools to stand out and succeed in any career path.
