Upper Sixth Student with an A* in A-Level Maths Offering Maths Lessons in Belfast

About the lesson

I am currently in U6th studying Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry. I completed my Maths A Level in 1 year and achieved an A*. I have some prior experience through one of my Prefect roles, in which I mentored a GCSE student in Mathematics last year. Explaining things at a different level, I carried him from a D to a very high B.  

I provide one to one tuition for GCSE students, allowing me to style the tuition to focus on your child's specific needs and problem areas. I will identify and tackle any of their weaknesses in understanding to sculpt an ingrained, strong, confident and assured grasp of the subject, helping your child understand every aspect of their Maths curriculum. Therby, leading to exam success and practical mathematical skills to carry with them for life.

In order to assess levels of knowledge and understanding and start to overcome weaknesses, the first couple of lessons will consist of past papers. I will go over one with your child in the lesson and set one for homework, for review the following lesson. Once I have an idea of strengths and weaknesses, I will arrange a lesson-by-lesson topic schedule, with relevant questions to do for homework. Closer to exam time, I will email a list of past papers to work through, and if there is a certain weakness in a particular topic, I could arrange another lesson.

The general lesson structure will consist of a review of the previous lesson’s homework and going over the next topic. As I go over the new topic, I will practise some questions with your child, with minimal guidance, until I feel confident in your child’s grasp of the topic.

I will try and keep lessons enjoyable, friendly and intuitive. One of my primary intentions is that your child will develop a liking for Mathematics, which will, without a doubt, help when preparing for exams.
