About Beth
I qualified to teach at Goldsmiths Univeristy in London in 2012.
I believe that the most important thing in teaching is finding what engages the learner, and using that as a hook so that what is being taught makes sense. This involves getting to know the person I’m teaching as well as I know the subject. As a class teacher I’ve always developed positive relationships with pupils very quickly, and think it’s important not to patronise or dismiss young people.
My teaching experience includes all primary year groups, with most time teaching from Reception up to Year 2. I’ve supported children who are struggling with Phonics and Maths and have enabled them to make meaningful progress. I have also taught classes of learners with Special Needs, including Learning Disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
