About Arthur
Hi everyone! I'm a physics graduate with experience working in a research environment, and organising and teaching physics tutorials in universities. I'm offering services as a part-time tutor in physics and mathematics. My schedule is flexible, I'm based in Hackney and can travel to anywhere within a reasonable distance by public transport. I believe there is skill in presenting science in an engaging and comprehensive way. I was fortunate enough to have close family members with a passion for science, who were able to show how fascinating it really can be. I believe that a proper education in science is an overview of one of humanity's greatest achievements, and by building a framework of understanding of how these facts fit together, students can begin to develop their own sense for how these connections are made, and absorb new information more easily. For students who have an exam approaching and need some peace of mind extra support to achieve a higher grade, I can offer a streamlined approach, de-constructing specific problems in an accessible way and strengthening understanding of the syllabus material. Sharing my skills and knowledge is something I've always done gladly, and to this end I gave weekly guitar lessons to a teenage refugee and helped with homework in any subjects he was struggling with over the course of the 2 years I spent in Germany as a researcher. During this time I was able to build a rapport of mutual understanding and respect, and make learning into a more enjoyable experience. I'm happy to teach up to and including A level in both physics and mathematics, and to a higher level in physics upon enquiry. Lessons in violin and guitar for beginners can also be arranged.
