About Stephen
I started playing guitar when I was 4 years old. I remember hearing "Rock You Like a Hurricane" on the radio and begging my parents for whatever the heck it was that made that incendiary sound. I was hooked immediately! Since that time I have had the pleasure of playing/recording with many different artists and bands of a wide array of styles. I also have spent some of my years as a band leader, and solo performer. I was asked to represent MusicCan at the 2007 Juno Awards, and have performed at many Canadian venues & music festivals.

Specializing in classic rock, blues, R&B, funk, folk, classic country, and heavy metal, my teaching methodology starts with finding out what YOU want to play and creating a unique lesson plan that will fulfill those desires.
I like providing students with basic music theory, scales, exercises, and practice routines that help streamline this process. I believe that learning songs and highlighting the fundamentals of the style & song (ie: why certain scales and chords work in a given song) is the best way to grasp and apply this knowledge while having some fun. After all, discipline is a vehicle for joy!
My personality type is warm, approachable, lighthearted, and encouraging but I pride myself on being able to hold students accountable to achieving their goals.
Open to all ages, and stages from beginner to intermediate.
