My teaching methodology is as follows - prior to formal lessons, I would like to arrange a pre-lesson meeting with both student and parent. This will help me ascertain which areas the student feels they need help with. I can also discuss with parents their goals for their child. Future lesson plans will be based on this meeting, so that they are individually tailored. I will track the progress of each student and provide feedback. As part of the tutoring process, I would welcome feedback on my own teaching style; it's important that I learn too.
In addition to my PhD, I have a BSc in Microbiology and MMedSci in Clinical Research. I have experience in teaching students at a variety of levels, from lecturing biochemistry to Undergraduate Dental students, to informal lessons with grammar school children and teaching a range of subjects to primary school children.
I am also a huge history enthusiast - I did history as a fourth A level because I enjoyed the subject so much! I would love to pass on that enthusiasm to the next generation!
Having a child whose GCSE subjects include Biology and History, I am familiar with the curriculum for both these subjects.
For cancellation, I would ask for 24hrs notice please.
