About Immanuela
Biological Scientist tutoring Grade 10-12 Biology / Life Sciences for both IEB and CAPS.
After achieving a Distinction in Biology in Grade 12, I completed two degrees (undergraduate and postgraduate) in Biology at the University of the Witwatersrand, where I gained extensive academic experience in the subject and became a qualified Biological Scientist. Simply put, I live and breathe science, and I am passionate about getting you to not simply memorise concepts, but to actually thrive in your understanding of the subject.
I have tutored high-school learners Biology in both the CAPS and IEB curricula, and I have worked as a Teaching Assistant, where I taught Biology to undergraduate students at the University of the Witwatersrand, one of Africa’s leading universities.

My teaching approach is centred on understanding rather than simple memorisation. I, therefore, place particular emphasis on clear explanations, the use of diagrams and examples, and active questioning, ensuring that you are actively engaging with the learning material.
In our sessions, I will break down concepts into manageable steps and help you build your confidence in Biology, and we will spend time working through past papers together so that you learn how to apply what you know, identify what questions are really asking and improve your exam technique.
My aim is to create a supportive environment where learners feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and working through concepts until they are confident and fully understand the subject. Whether you need to focus on a specific topic, work systematically through the curriculum or prepare for an upcoming test or exam, I will tailor our lessons to your individual level and needs.
Feel free to check out my attached video to get a feel for what our tutoring sessions will be like.
I look forward to helping you reach your academic goals!
