About Jack
I grew up on the banks of The Yukon River where I was homeschooled until the age of thirteen, when I entered the public education system. Upon entering my grade eleven year I relocated to BC to further my academic education, where I excelled in AP English, Creative writing, and History. After graduating high school I attended the University of Guelph for a year on an academic scholarship, before deciding to try and pursue a career in freelance writing and journalism.
I am currently residing in the Halifax Peninsula where I write periodically for Eklectish.com, The Klondike Sun, and the Shakat Journal, and am waiting to transition to studying journalism full-time.
Having grown up with an appreciation of learning and knowledge I like to think that I have a unique approach to education, one that is based on actual cognitive mechanics of understanding and experience, rather than purely on course material.

I like to teach through analogy and synonymous functions, structuring learning through series of sessions that alternate between goal orientated lessons, writing and reading/analysis, and critical feedback.
I can teach academic and basic English, as well as academic and creative writing, and am also a history nut.
I can work with anyone in elementary education to secondary school, and am open to working with adults in basic education.
