About Jeff
I am an experienced educator and mentor with nearly two decades of experience helping students grow academically, build confidence, and develop strong learning habits. I hold both a Bachelor of Arts from Ohio Wesleyan University and a Master of Education from Ursuline College, earning a 4.0 GPA in both programs and being inducted into Phi Beta Kappa for academic excellence.
Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with students of varying ages, backgrounds, learning styles, and ability levels. My experience in education, leadership, and instructional development has taught me the importance of patience, communication, structure, and building positive relationships with students.
I pride myself on being dependable, professional, organized, and approachable. I understand that every student learns differently, and I work hard to create lessons that are engaging, supportive, and tailored to each student’s individual goals and needs.
In addition to subject knowledge, I focus on helping students improve skills that lead to long-term academic success, including:
Critical thinking
Organization and study habits
Reading comprehension
Writing and communication
Confidence and independent learning
My goal is to help students not only improve academically, but also feel more capable, motivated, and confident in the classroom.

I take a student-centered teaching approach that focuses on helping students understand concepts deeply, think critically, and build confidence in their academic abilities. My goal is not simply to help students memorize information, but to help them develop the skills to analyze, connect, and apply what they are learning.
With years of experience in education, leadership, and instructional development, I believe effective teaching should be clear, engaging, supportive, and adapted to each student’s learning style and needs. I work to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing as learners.
My teaching style emphasizes:
Clear explanations and structured instruction
Critical thinking and discussion
Building confidence and independent learning habits
Personalized support based on the student’s strengths and challenges
Connecting concepts to real-world examples and current events
A typical lesson includes:
Review of previous material and learning goals
Guided instruction and explanation of key concepts
Interactive discussion and analysis
Practice activities, reading support, or writing assistance
Feedback, reflection, and strategies for continued improvement
I strongly believe students learn best when they understand why something matters, not just what to memorize. I focus on helping students improve comprehension, communication, analytical thinking, and study habits in ways that build long-term academic confidence.
What sets me apart is my combination of:
Extensive teaching and leadership experience
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to explain complex ideas in simple, relatable ways
Positive, encouraging, and structured learning environment
Focus on both academic growth and student confidence
Lessons are ideal for:
Middle school, high school, and college-prep students
Students needing help with history, government, civics, geography, or general social studies
Students looking to improve reading comprehension, writing, and critical thinking
Students preparing for quizzes, tests, papers, or class discussions
Learners who benefit from individualized attention and personalized instruction
I work hard to make lessons engaging, organized, and tailored to each student’s goals so they can build both academic skills and confidence as learners.
