About John
Before teaching, I played in several bands in both a recording and live environment. I currently play for the Knoxville, TN metal band, Vaelravyn and have previously played for Eric Roebuck, Alaeddin, Joynoise, and more.
After high school, I studied Digital Audio and graduated with a Certificate of Specialization. Since then, the career of teaching has allowed me to take part in over 300 students' endeavors, including in group settings that would allow for the students to perform on stage.

I began teaching in 2019, and specialize in ear training exercises, song performance, and improvisational skills, especially for a live music setting.
In our weekly lessons, we will go over the aforementioned skills in a style of your choice, and also delve into the appreciation of music. This includes exposure to new artists and stylistic approaches to play your favorite music.
