About Betsy
My BMus Violin Performance degree from Queensland Conservatorium provides a rigorous framework for my approach to teaching guitar. Having worked with 60 students over 6 years of experience, I know how to break down complex patterns into manageable parts.
Acoustic technique, lead guitar, and songwriting are central to my method. We will cover fingerpicking, reading sheet music, and chord transitions alongside essential blues progressions. Improvisation, soloing, scales, modes, and grade exam prep are also integrated into our time together. I have a proven track record of helping players reach their next level.

You will notice that our time together feels practical and focused on the music you actually want to play. We start with a free trial session to assess starting level to see if my style suits your goals. I bring my BMus knowledge to help you master chord transitions and blues progressions with ease. We might spend some time on improvisation or refining your fingerpicking technique as we go along.
It is a straightforward process where we play more than we talk. You can expect a clear, friendly atmosphere where every adjustment is explained. I focus on making sure the physical work of playing guitar feels comfortable and logical. My approach ensures that your technical progress is something we can both hear.
