About Richard
I started my working life in the broadcasting business working in the studios and doing remote programs. I quickly learned how important using English is. Eventually I went on to join the engineering management team planning, designing and maintaining the production and transmission equipment, and buildings. Writing memos and letters was a daily exercise. As a result, I have become acutely aware of English use and abuse and try to avoid leaving a trail of cringing listeners and readers behind me.

Extensive senior managerial experience has made me acutely aware of the important part writing plays in business communications. This applies to everything from meaningful notes in birthday cards to composing lengthy important reports, detailed instruction manuals or simply succinct to-the-point memos.
My preferred approach to tutoring is to review material provided by the student and lead to them discover how he or she can improve their work and their self-confidence. Coaching on all aspects of writing will be covered.
The overall objective will be to produce material that is meaningful, readable, to the point, and has no glaring errors.
The time taken will be adjusted to achieve the objectives.
