About Rebecca
I am a rising Senior at Emmanuel College in Boston studying to earn a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology with minors in Global and Public Health and Sociology. I have always been passionate on this subject and earned a 5 on the AP biology exam in high school. I have had a summer internship in a lab working on gene therapies to treat rare genetic diseases. This summer I will be working with researchers at UCONN Health investigating the immune system and cancer therapies.

As a tutor I like to begin by accessing the current knowledge and learning styles of the student in order to best teach them. Depending on the age level I will ask them what their current school topics are on and the areas of biology that they find difficult to understand. Next, I will find learning tools specifically targeted to the individual and the topic that day. I foster an open learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and saying "I don't understand". I have a special interest in cell biology and human biology but I have years of knowledge on plant biology, anatomy and physiology, and genetics.
